.... actually, I had a steak..... except that it was about 1-inch by 1-inch square...... I think I remember having three or four green beens that were stragegically arranged..... au grautin potatoes..... after the meal, we all secretly craved a Big Mac and large fries......

Our guide (Toby's boss) drove us around in the country outside of Aberdeen. He told us that most of the forests were cut down during the Industrial Revolution, but later replanted. Pretty amazing.

.... actually, Lou, that is true..... both because of the industrial revoltion and the constant wars with France and the need to build a bigger Navy...... but then, after the Highland Clearances, the sheep that were introduced ate all of the new-growth trees.... as a result, Scotland was nearly totally deforested by the 1850s.........
... still, the area around Aberdeen is quite beautiful....
