... as is my idiom, I shall wish you all a happy Independence Day by harking you back to the freedom fighters of antiquity... in particular, The Declaration of Arbroath... a fiery document signed in 1320... and many say, a document which inspired our Founding Fathers to pen the Declaration of Independence in 1776... regardless, it is worth a look... here is a selection from the text...
For as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any conditions be brought under English rule. It is not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom ” for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself
... thus endeth today's history lesson... celebrate your Freedom, people... and happy 229th birthday, America... may you have many, many happy returns...
See? We Scots do know a thing or two of importance...

Bullshitted by Trevor on July 4, 2005 06:28 PMHappy 4th to you. I've added a link at the top of my sidebar where you can send a message to our service people. There's been lots of $th of July notes sent, but our heroes need our support all the time. Pass the work.
Bullshitted by Junebugg on July 4, 2005 09:52 PMThanks for that ... I've a bit of the Scot in me and damn I always loved a man in a kilt. Seriously though, I kept this because it is great info...great! It was written during a period when one of my forefathers was a butthead overweaning Scottish king ... so, like the cattle-rustling Wyatt Earp bros turne marshalls, I like to keep my family history straight, on both sides... obviously someone had some sense in the earlier centuries...
