Heart Attack...

... after catching up on a few blogs last night... I wandered through to the front room... Scrooge was on.... the version from back in 1951... the one with Alistair Sim... a man BORN to play Scrooge... man, I love watching Scrooge - any version... but last night, something strange suddenly came to me.... you remember that scene where the freshly spooked Scrooge arrives at his Nephew's house?... he acts all excited, and his Gorgeous Brunette Babe kisses ole Scrooge, and then immediately whisks him off for a polka?... well children, I caught the Dickens in that scene.... just a flicker, in this cheery tale, but it was there...

... I mean, just imagine... a Nephew who was bitching about being cut out of the will only two scenes earlier?.... when suddenly, rich Uncle Scrooge shows up, old and decrepit?... what is the FIRST thing that a young, opportunistic man would do?... yeah... that's right.... throw your nubile young hotmamma at Uncle Scrooge, and make them dance at a fever pitch for half an hour or so.... Christmas cheer, indeed.... that money-grubbing bastard was PRAYING for Scrooge to stroke out right there in front of the fireplace... THAT is Charles Dickens.... God, I love Christmas....

My respect for Dickens just rose 2 notches.

5 more, and it'll be at ground level :-)

(Sorry, just some bad memories from high school English required reading lists :-/

Following comment related in name only:

Yes, we all love Scrooge, but I love Scrooged.

I laugh my ass off at that movie every year.

I almost forgot...time to go Netflix it.

I love all Christmas movies....especially the classics :) Although, I did attempt to watch White Christmas this weekend, and I don't know if it was the company or what...but, I couldn't keep focused on it...it didn't have it's original charm.
